Eco Caminhos offers an amazing one-day immersion experience at the farm. You’ll have the opportunity to learn both in theory and practice about permaculture, agroforestry, or bioconstruction. For those who wish, there are some light hands-on experiences. The Eco Farm provides a warm lunch with natural farm products. It’s also possible to book a personalized program where you can plan your own schedule and activities. And if you want the project’s founder, Bart, to provide you with a personalized workshop, consultancy, and farm tour, you can book our premium program.

Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the entrance by one of our staff members, who will guide you to the center of the farm. After a brief welcome, a cup of coffee or tea will be served, and a brief outline of the day will be provided. You will then begin with a presentation on permaculture, followed by a farm tour. At noon, a warm meal made with organic farm ingredients will be served, with several dish options to choose from. After lunch, you can participate in agroforestry or bioconstruction work on the farm, which is a great opportunity for hands-on experience. There will always be someone nearby to guide you. Remember that you can choose which activities you want to participate in or skip.

Our Custom Package is for people who want a personalized farm experience. This is very interesting if you want to learn specific skills from one of the techniques we apply on the farm or if you like being able to choose your own program. You can choose 1 Workshop. Unlike the basic package, we will always ask what you would like to do. We will discuss options before your arrival in a video call so we can plan your activities in advance and tailor them to your interests. Importantly, if you want the founder, Bart, to provide you with intensive personalized training, you will need to book the Premium package. Upon arrival, you will be met at the gate by one of our team members who will take you to your accommodation. After a brief reception, you will be served a cup of coffee or tea, and you will receive an explanation of possible activities. You can then take part in a presentation followed by a tour of the farm. During the tour, you will be able to see the different bioconstructions and agroforestry projects and hear all the details. At noon, a hot meal made with organic ingredients from the farm will be served, with several dish options to choose from. After lunch, you can participate in agroforestry or bioconstruction work on the farm. This is an opportunity to get hands-on experience. There will always be someone around to guide you.

Our Premium Package is for people who want a personalized farm experience and want to be guided by the farm’s founder, Bart. What makes the premium package special is that you will hear all the stories of the farm since its founding and benefit from all the knowledge Bart has accumulated over time. You will also have the opportunity to choose a workshop or have a private consultation. This needs to be booked in advance so we can plan. Upon arrival, you will be met at the gate by one of our team members who will take you to the center of the farm. After a brief reception, you will be served a cup of coffee or tea, and you will receive an explanation of possible activities. After that, Bart will assist you personally. The founder can give a theoretical presentation on permaculture, agroforestry or bioconstruction or can offer private consultancy. If desired, this can be followed by a tour of the farm where he will show you the different bioconstructions and agroforestry projects. You will then start your chosen workshop. At noon, a hot meal made with organic ingredients from the farm will be served, with several dish options to choose from. After lunch, you can participate in agroforestry or bioconstruction work on the farm (that’s up to the workers). This is an opportunity to get hands-on experience. You can also enjoy a guided hike or visit a local waterfall. There will always be someone around to guide you. You can see a schedule for the day’s program here:

Your safety and health

We live in a very safe region in the mountainous region around Fribourg. Now on the farm, we have animals like cows, chickens and dogs. We will also walk on trails during the hike and through our agroforestry systems. Therefore, we recommend that people wear pants (we do not recommend shorts or skirts), bring comfortable walking shoes and a hat for the sun. In case of rain, it’s a good idea to bring a raincoat. For some activities, it is necessary to be in reasonably good physical condition. Of course, we can adjust the program for people with physical limitations. Please let us know in advance if you have any limitations so we can make adjustments.

Bus station/airport transfer

You can get to Eco Fazenda on your own. For people arriving by public transport, we can pick them up at the Nova Friburgo bus station. We charge 200 reais for the round trip from the bus station. Now, if you need transportation from Rio de Janeiro to Nova Friburgo, we organize your transfer (one way) for 900 reais for up to 4 people with our trustworthy driver.
