The lawyer turned musical artiste hails from Nigeria's commercial capital city of Lagos. He has one album to his credit titled 'Happy Day' which features one of the favorite love songs to come out of Nigeria yet, 'Olo Mi'. This song amongst others such as ('Made In Nigeria' and title track 'Happy Day', a traditional/negro spiritual track), has become the anthem for social functions across Nigeria, London, USA, S. Africa, Kenya, Dublin, Ghana, Ukraine etc. and one of the most downloaded ring tones.
Classifying Tosin's music has been an upheaval task for many music enthusiasts and analysts given his uncommon ability to combine a number of genres quite seemlessly.
His style is simply described as crossover by his teeming fans and followers. His songs cross from R&B, Highlife, Jazz fusion to more traditional and contemporary styles. Tosin has won a number of awards notable amongst which is the award for the best new act 2007 of the Nigerian Entertainment Awards in New York, USA and best cross over song, Nigerian Gospel Music Achievers Awards 2006. This is besides several award nominations.
His performances are even more a pointer to the fact that Tosin Martins is an artiste in the real sense of the word. He has appeared on many first class international shows and events including the Big Brother Nigeria Show broadcast to millions around Africa and the world; the just concluded West African Idols Show which featured Tosin's 'Olo Mi' hit song on the African Edition; the first ever annual Experience Concert in Lagos; the Starcomms Concert; Rhythm Unplugged; Laffs n Jams; MTN/Storm Homecoming Party; Cool FM's Xmas Praise Jam; the unveiling of corporate giant UAC's new logo and countless other regular concerts, gigs, social and corporate events. In the course of his musical career Tosin has also performed alongside top international artistes such as Kirk Franklin, Lagbaja, Keziah Jones, Donnie McClurkin, Tu Face, Weird MC, Sammy Okposo and many others.
