Tenin secluded herself in a NYC studio for three days with platinum-award winning Anthony “Rocky” Gallo to record 12 songs for her debut album. Written, arranged and performed by Tenin, the album shines with edgy girl power ballads (Diamond/I Deserve More), feel-good danceables (Party of Life/I Like Him/Are You Ready) and more! With a whole lot of heart and a distinct hip hop swag, Tenin is serving up positive messages of self-confidence and faith to substance-starved music lovers around the world. At the early age of seven, humble beginnings in the church choir helped Tenin to discover her vocal talents. Taking cue from her choir director mother, Tenin learned to sing with strength and sincerity. As an adolescent that ability won her lead roles in a childrens theatre ensemble where she was fast bit by the acting bug, and with that, led to her calling on the stage. Honing her performance craft through high school and studying Musical Theatre at Kean University, Tenin quickly went pro as a sought-after stage actress.
In pursuing her passion for performance, Tenin discovered another gift - writing. At first a channel for expressing the painful experiences of being teased as a child, raised without her father in the home and having low self-esteem, Tenin began adding melody to her poems. The resulting songs were lyrically provocative and emotionally moving, catching the ear of several music executives. By her high school graduation she had penned lyrics for multiple recording artists and established a reputation for being a quadruple-threat: singer, songwriter, actress and dancer.
Since officially launching her recording career 24 months ago with a self-produced EP (including breakout hits “I Remember” and “More & More”), Tenin has performed nationwide and parlayed her acting and vocal talents into television appearances on FOX , TLC and Oxygen networks. Tenin has also graced the stages of PNC Arts Center, Best Buy, the Izod Center and NYC's historic Bitter End. For an artist with only a family owned and operated production company as support, such accomplishments hint to her unassuming business-savvy and unbridled ambition.
A successful entrepreneur (CEO of Encore Kids) and speaker, Tenin also tours schools and conferences engaging audiences on topics such as entrepreneurship and relationships.
