Artist: Fado
Fado AKA O.B Fado was born in Enugu and grew up in Owerri, Nigeria. He started as a TV Presenter before moving into radio as a Radio Jockey. He wrote his first song at the age of 16, but started music professionally in 2005. His musical influences are Bob Nesta Marley, Buju Banton, Wyclef, Damian “Jnr Gong” Marley, R.kelly and lately - Akon. Back home he enjoys listening to artists like Flavour, Tuface, Faze and Rymzo De Gusto. He expresses himself through his own blend of music which cuts across Reggae and Pop music and says people should expect more fusions of music from him because he loves trying new blends of music as well as very versatile. Fans can expect him to explode in the music industry very soon.
His debut album PHASES was released in 2006 which had hit tracks such as “Funmilayo” and the people’s favorite – “I remember when”. After the release of the album, Fado quit music and entertainment for banking, a job he did for four successful years. In 2010 after having lived in different parts of the world, Fado returned to Owerri and went back to his first love – Radio Jockey.Currently working with HOT FM OWERRI. He released his first single after so many years in October, 2011 – “Baby Muo ft Slow Dogg” which became an instant hit. - Fado dropped his first ever mix-tape titled “DJ with Da Flow”. All the songs in the mix-tape have been certified – “Funking Good Music” by all that had the pleasure of listening to it. The mix-tape also contains a bonus track of his first international collaboration with American female singer and producer – Icesis and it is available for purchase. Presently Fado is working on his new album titled “The Rebirth” which will be a follow up to his mix-tape and has written a lot of mind blowing poems. He also has a lot of international collaborations lined after his song enjoyed massive listenership on the internet and caught the attention of other artists from different parts of the world.
