|Roki was disqualified from the reality tv show along with fellow Zimbabwean housemate Maneta after the two had a fight which culminated in Roki pouring water over Maneta and the latter retaliating by pouring cleaning detergent all over the former. Quite a bit of it got onto Roki’s face and into his eyes and he retreated from the scene screaming, 'My eyes! My eyes!'|
We understand he was taken for treatment and that he and Maneta went for anger management counselling, courtesy of Big Brother.
According to the New York Times health guide getting detergent into one’s eyes can lead to ‘severe pain or burning’ all the way up to ‘loss of vision’.
It was difficult to get a clear photo of Roki as he kept his head down and had scores of fans trying to get a piece of him. He did look up a few times though and our photographers snapped some worrying shots of him, where his eyes look like they are still to recover from Maneta’s anger-induced detergent bath.
The fact that he was crying definitely contributed to his red eye state.
Angry fans at the airport kept calling for Maneta before and after Roki’s arrival, wanting to ‘deal with her’ but she apparently was not on the same flight as her fellow housemate. Some were singing loudly 'Taneta na Maneta (we're tired of Maneta)!'
Among those who came to welcome Roki at the airport were baby mamas Pauline Gundidza and Melody Musekiwa. Pauline told Zimbo Jam that she did not have any ill feelings for Maneta. 'For whatever character she was showing on TV I don’t know if that’s her character or if it was just for that time. What I can say is to err is human and to forgive is divine. I think we should all just put it behind us and move on with our lives because we all make mistakes.'
She however expressed her disappointment at the fact that Roki was out of the house. 'I see no reason to watch Big Brother anymore,' she said.
Seated beside her were the two kids she has had with Roki, Skye and Minana 'I let them watch a little bit of their dad on TV,' she revealed.”
